BROOKLYN CENTER, MN – Saturday evening saw a seventh round of protests at the police department on Humboldt Ave. N. after more than 100 mass arrests during a large kettle in the northwestern Twin Cities suburb on Friday.

Earlier hundreds rallied in the eastern suburb of Stillwater in Washington County at County Attorney Pete Orput’s house – Orput is handling the case against former Brooklyn Center police officer Kim Potter, who was charged with 2nd degree manslaughter and quickly bailed out earlier this week. The Minnesota State Patrol dispatched one of its surveillance craft to Stillwater during the afternoon – our earlier report covered its advanced surveillance capabilities.

The Ohio State Patrol is apparently dispatching units to Minnesota. The likely framework for this action is the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC), which triggered Nebraska State Patrol and surveillance aircraft to come to Morton County to police the NoDAPL movement at Standing Rock in 2018. See more Unicorn Riot stories about interstate policing and EMAC here.

Daunte Wright was killed last Sunday by Potter at a traffic stop. See our previous coverage from protests streamed earlier in the week.
