These are the Khaya sisters and they have more humanity and dignity than the government of Morocco and Spain. They have suffered torture, rape and all kinds of human rights violations by the Moroccan regime and they continue to fight day by day for their freedom. They are not intimidated..

Hundreds of women gather in the Sahrawi camps in solidarity with the Sahrawi activists Sultana Jaya and her sister Laura Jaya. The demonstration also demanded the freedom of all Sahrawi political prisoners.

They also denounce the illegal imprisonment of Sahrawi political prisoners and show their condemnation and rejection of the Moroccan policies of repression in Western Sahara.

We will not give in to the “blackmail” of Morocco and we defend the self-determination of the Saharawi people.. The MEP and International Secretary of Podemos, Idoia Villlanueva, reaffirmed the position of her formation favorable to the self-determination of the Saharawi people, as defined by international law, and has defended not to give in to the “blackmail” of Morocco, which she has accused of generating the migratory crisis in Ceuta in order to “pressure” and provoke “tensions” in Spain.

The protesters also call for intervention by the international community to save the lives of these activist Sahrawi women under house arrest.

The demonstration continues the initiatives in the occupied territories of Western Sahara, which demand, among other things, the Moroccan authorities to stop the looting of natural resources, release all Sahrawi political prisoners and organize a free referendum.

This Sunday’s event was the largest, with the presence of more than 300 more women than in previous marches held in the Sahrawi camps.
