On the Jul. 14, 2021 episode of his Infowars show The American Journal, host Harrison Smith went on a rant about how Biden administration officials “deserve to die.” Smith also said that former HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius “should be killed” before cautioning viewers not to commit violent acts.

During an American Journal segment Smith read headlines from printed out Infowars articles while adding his own commentary. After reading one headline, about an Economist article decrying the lack of diversity on the Italian soccer team, Smith claimed it was evidence of “white genocide.”

“Is it that bizarre? Is it that strange?” Smith said of the article. “I mean hell, they hate white people! They’re just — it’s white genocide! Yeah, they’re gonna write articles bemoaning that white people still exist until we’re all gone. Unless we stand up for ourselves.”

White genocide” is a white supremacist conspiracy theory which Smith has promoted before.

He then pulled up an article about comments made by former HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius during a recent appearance on CNN’s OutFront.

Sebelius told host Erin Burnett that it should be time to tell Americans who refuse to get the COVID-19 vaccine that they “may not come to work” or “have access to a situation” where they might infect or kill her grandchildren. She also compared refusing the vaccine to secondhand smoking or drunk driving.

Smith read from a Breitbart article which was republished on Infowars and titled “Sebelius: Unvaccinated Americans Should Not Be Allowed To Work, Have Access To Children.” “Well I think she should be killed,” Smith said. He briefly moved on to an article about the death of John McAfee before going on a tangent.

“I want to explain something,” he said. “I think a lot of these people deserve to die. I think most of the people in the Biden administration are treasonous, genocidal maniacs who are using their power to disenfranchise, dispossess, and demonize the people that they’re planning to literally genocide.”

Smith called this a “very serious concern” and said “drastic measures will have to be taken.” He then backtracked from these violent remarks, cautioning viewers that murdering government officials would do more harm than good.

“But what would happen if somebody just went out and killed [Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman] General Milley?” he asked. “What would happen if just some insane Infowarrior was inspired by me to go out and assassinate? Would it make anything better?”

Smith insisted that it would “make everything worse” and give the government “justification” to enact new “draconian measures.” He also played off his earlier comments as “hyperbole” and expressions of “frustration.”

“And so no, please, for the love of God, don’t go out and do random violence,” he told viewers.

“Don’t attack these people. When I’m expressing this stuff I’m just venting frustration. But you have to think strategically. You have to really understand the situation that we’re in and understand that any violent, individual, outrageous action will only negatively impact us.”
