10bis, the Israeli branch of the Dutch global food delivery company Just Eat Takeaway.com, is denying its workers their right to unionize. Food couriers have worked tirelessly throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, risking themselves to keep the food sector alive, and serve the needs of hundreds of thousands of clients, during the pandemic. In October 2020, half of the 10bis couriers unionized in the Histadrut, demanded insurance for couriers and recognition of their bonuses as components of their salaries. But the company has tried to prevent unionization, intimidated organizers, refused to negotiate with the workers and attempted to dismiss the workers’ council leader. While Just Eat Takeaway.com boasts in its code of conduct that they recognize employees’ freedom to establish or join a trade union of their choice, their implementation remains unimplemented and are nothing than mere words on paper. Join with us to tell Just Eat Takeaway.com to stop the 10bis union-busting attempt, recognize the workers’ council, begin good-faith negotiations and cancel the efforts to dismiss worker representatives.
