On the night of 15 June, Rainbow Youth’s Tauranga Drop-in Centre was burnt down in a suspicious fire overnight. Rainbow Youth’s building is 1 of 60 buildings in Tauranga’s Historic Village. It was destroyed by fire overnight. The fire began at approximately 12.30 AM.
The details of the attack are unknown. However, this is a very distressing time for Rainbow Youth and the queer community in Aotearoa, especially in Tauranga. While we uncover the details, I am putting up this Give a Little for people to donate to Rainbow Youth during this time.
All money from this fundraiser will be donated to Rainbow Youth. Rainbow Youth does have a form of insurance that we are looking into and this page will be updated with the information regarding the coverage as soon as that information is available.
