On Monday, September 6, six Palestinian political prisoners escaped from the Gilboa high security prison through a tunnel. They were sentenced to life imprisonment for their participation in Palestinian resistance actions.
The prisoners dug a tunnel under a large ceramic bathroom tile at the foot of a sink.
The six liberated prisoners are Zakaria Al-Zubaidi, Munadil Yaqoub Naf’at, Muhammad Qasim Ardah, Yaqoub Mahmoud Qadri, Ayham Fouad Kamamji, and Mahmoud Abdullah Ardah.
Palestinian resistance continues against the Zionist occupation and the escape of these political prisoners is a powerful example of the resilience of those imprisoned by colonizers to struggle for their own liberation.
