Prisoner in struggle, AdrĂan GĂłmez JimĂ©nez, member of the organization, La Voz de IndĂgenas en Resistencia, adherent of the Sixth Declaration of the Lacandon Jungle of the EZLN, imprisoned in CERSS No. 5, San CristĂłbal de las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico.
With this communique, the organization La Voz de IndĂgenas en Resistencia, expresses its solidarity with the caravan of observation and solidarity in support of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation, so the Zapatistas can work their territory which is fundamental for their communities. From here in CERSS No. 5, as an adherent of the Sixth Declaration of the Lacandon Jungle of the EZLN, I write this communique to express my solidarity. We know clearly those who struggle from below and to the left will always face obstacles from the governments who want to silence and shut us up. To be attentive and show solidarity helps make clear that the caravan is not alone.
On the other hand, I emphasize that I am a member of La Voz de IndĂgenas en Resistencia. The offended were never presented in court during my case. In Mexico, there is no justice. Justice is bought and sold. That is what I have experienced and what I have seen during my time. Judges are bribed, giving freedom to the accused. In Chiapas, Mexico, justice is rotten, justice doesnât exist. This is something I have experienced demanding justice from the governor of Chiapas, Rutilo EscandĂłn Cadenas. He has ignored and continues to ignore inmates who are innocent, those of us who donât know how to defend ourselves and donât know our rights. I am currently here, waiting to finish serving my remaining three years. I expect to live three more unjust years in this prison. Because DAMNED justice in Chiapas does not exist. Judges are worthless. Because the corruption in this prison, CERSS No. 5, never ends. Inmates are charged large amounts of money so they do not have to do forced labor. It is pure injustice in the prisons.
Lastly, I invite the human rights, non-governmental and independent organizations to continue demanding true justice.
Uniting the voices and forces of the Mexican people, true justice will triumph.
