Hundreds of curious people have come to the Gardens of the Three Chimneys to photograph the artist’s new proposal

The content of the new mural by artist Roc Blackblock was a mystery. After one of his works was removed by cleaning workers, he had announced that he would paint a new one, but had not revealed what it would represent. On Sunday morning, the secret was discovered in the Gardens of the Three Chimneys.

The artist says he has decided to make an expanded and improved version of the work. “I’m painting the emeritus king, but this time, in the company of his predecessor,” he told Betevé, referring to a portrait of dictator Francisco Franco.

The work also includes a portrait of the current King Philip VI, and two slogans: “Spain is a fascist country” and “Here censorship, repression and torture are as in a dictatorship.”

Blackblock has explained that, with his works, he tries to show that “in this country, we are sadly censored, repressed and even tortured,” he says. That is why he considers it very important to continue to carry out these types of vindictive actions.

The artist’s performance generates a lot of anticipation

Hundreds of people have flocked to the Gardens of the Three Chimneys on Avinguda del Paral·lel to observe and photograph Blackblock’s new proposal. The artist has been surrounded at all times by a circle of curious people and the media who were waiting anxiously to see his proposal.

The decision to delete the previous mural has a knock-on effect

Roc Blackblock,was accompanied by about 50 artists who also wanted to vindicate themselves in favor of freedom of expression and against the imprisonment of Pablo Hasél.

The fact that it was decided to delete the Blackblock mural on February 8 has had a striking effect, the number of artists enrolled in this action has tripled compared to the previous edition.

Centenars de curiosos s’ha acostat als Jardins de les Tres Xemeneies per fotografiar la nova proposta de l’artista

El contingut del nou mural de l’artista Roc Blackblock era tota una incògnita. Després que una de les seves obres l’esborressin uns operaris de neteja, havia anunciat que en pintaria una de nova, però no havia revelat què hi representaria. Diumenge al matí el secret s’ha descobert als Jardins de les Tres Xemeneies. L’artista assegura que ha decidit fer una versió ampliada i millorada de l’obra. “Estic pintant el rei emèrit, però aquest cop, en companyia del seu predecessor” ha explicat a betevé referint-se a un retrat del dictador Francisco Franco. L’obra també inclou un retrat l’actual rei Felip VI, i dues consignes: “Espanya es un país feixista” i “Aquí es censura, reprimeix i es tortura com en una dictadura”.

Blackblock ha explicat que, amb les seves obres, intenta posar de manifest que “en aquest país, tristament se censura, es reprimeix i fins i tot es tortura”, diu. Per això considera que és molt important seguir duent a terme aquests tipus d’accions reivindicatives.

L’actuació de l’artista genera molta expectació

Centenars de persones s’han acostat als Jardins de les Tres Xemeneies, a l’avinguda del Paral·lel, per observar i fotografiar la nova proposta de Blackblock. L’artista ha estat envoltat en tot moment per un cercle de curiosos i mitjans de comunicació que esperaven expectants per veure la seva proposta.

La decisió d’esborrar el mural provoca un efecte crida

A Roc Blackblock l’han acompanyat una cinquantena d’artistes, que també han volgut reivindicar-se a favor de la llibertat d’expressió i en contra de l’empresonament de Pablo Hasél. El fet que el 8 de febrer es decidís esborrar el mural de Blackblock ha provocat un efecte crida, el nombre d’artistes inscrits en aquesta acció s’ha triplicat respecte a l’edició anterior.
